Stuart Rodda (aka Clarke Nova) continued his education at Falmouth School of Arts, studying graphic design before relocating to Southampton where he completed an HND in graphics and a degree in Photography. Post education, he took time to reflect upon his artistic intentions and decided to combine his skills with painting, developing his own unique visual identity. Stu now lives and works in Southampton were he is a key member of the Arches studios. Through his residency at the Arches, he has expanded his practice to now include building installations and interventions, painting live, making large scale stencils, customising vehicles and taking on both public and private commissions. Highlights of his endeavors include being commissioned by Arts & Business for a mural inside the Mono, one of Southampton’s leading licensed venues, organising the Arches group exhibition Same = Different at the Bargate Monument Gallery and exhibiting in Southampton’s city-wide show ArtVaults.

An area that he has had continued success is working with young people in conjunction with local government, community centres and schools, delivering workshops focusing on stencils and spray-can art, either through contacts made through Creative Partnerships or directly through his business ‘Nova Industries’. He is now artist in residence at Noadswood Sports College in Hythe, Southampton and regularly works at Fairways Care Centre adapting his skills to fit the requirements of each particular workshop brief.
